Adventures from Hannover (March 14, 2016)

Oh the adventures of Hannover never truly get old...

Last Pday was the most ridiculous day of my life!! So sorry that all my emails were crazy!!

Last Tuesday we were teaching our Ukrainian less active Yuliya!! She is now coming back to full activity and we are starting to teach her about the temple and hopefully helping her to take out her endowments when the ward goes to Sweden next month!!! We had a really good lesson with her on Tuesday and in my broken German I was able to bear testimony of prayer and tell her a story that I hold very near to my heart. She started crying grabbed my hand and said, "God has sent me Angels!" It was really awesome. She had a hard time praying because she wasn't sure if God was listening... but now she prays every day and comes to church every week!! Super great!!

The next day we had a lesson with our investigator!!! She is incredible!!! Her testimony is so strong!! And she reads the Book of Mormon with her daughter every night and her daughter who is like 8 years old asked for 25 Books of Mormon to give to her class bahahaha!! It was pretty cute!!! She has so much faith and loves everything we teach her!! She will for sure be baptized!! We meet with her again soon and we are going to ask her to be baptized!! Can't wait!!!

So last week the six of us were on the Bahn (Six meaning Elders Gerlach, and Drazin Sisters Garnett and Sannstrum, and me and Sister Hendricks) We are standing there and one of the African investigators, Isaac, was there!! And then his wife or sister or someone I don't know who she was exactly was like, "You girls must come buy African dresses!!! Come!! Come buy dresses!!" and the Elders were like, "Do you have African ties?!" And she was like, "Yes yes!!" Bahaha!! So today we are all going to buy these sick African dresses and ties bahaha!! We are so stoked!!!

Oh my word... Friday we did the most intense service project... the six of us... (the same people who are getting the African clothes with me) Helped this old lady carry furniture from the Attic to the Basement...

We took four huge shranks apart carried the pieces to the basement and put them back together... then we took a couch apart carried that to the basement and put it together... then we took two beds apart and carried them to the basement and put those together... it took a grand total of seven hours to complete this project and at the beginning we thought it was just the shranks. But when we finsihed those she kept adding more things to take apart and carry and rebuild haha!! It was good we did it though because she needed the help!! She takes care of her 91 year old mother. She is alone with her Mother and her mothers nurse who only speaks Polish!!!! So they have no way of communicating!!! It is so sad... So I am glad we were able to help.

Our ward is in an uproar!! They are so mad at our mission president who came up with a rule that ward members are only allowed to invite one companionship to dinner... Well our ward loves to invite all six of us to dinner at once. So the ward is so mad!!! And the bishop refuses to announce it to make it official until he, "Prays about it..." because he, "Doesn't agree with it!" Bahaha!! We don't agree with it either but... Haha the ward is ticked off!!

Anyway, those are the main things that have happened this week!! I can't speak German... But I am trying!! ;) haha!! I love Germany and you all need to come here ASAP!! Love you all!!! Make good choices!! Remember who you are and don't let it get you down!! ;) But you're all great so don't worry about that!! ;)

Love,

Sister Darton
