Hallo! (June 27, 2016)

Our District Pday 😀

Hallo America!!

How's life going? :) Germany won last night so that's exciting!! ;)

So this week was pretty good! :) A lot of our appointments fell out...
;) but we had a good week trotz dem! ;)

So last Monday we had our District Pday! I love my district! So I was
excited to be able to spend a day with them. We went to Bergen-Belsen!
It was really really sad. It is the concentration camp where Anne
Frank and her sister died. It was quite the experience that's for
sure... We went into the exhibit and they showed footage of
Bergen-Belsen and it was really hard to watch. They showed a clip of a
man who had just been liberated from Bergen-Belsen. And the man said
that he started in Auschwitz and then he was transferred to
Sachsenhausen and then transferred to Bergen-Belsen. And he said that
Bergen-Belsen was the worst one he had been to. The treatment there
was absolutely horrible. The camp was completely burned down so there
were no buildings or anything. It was all just mass burials which was
really crazy to see. So ya, that was my Pday last week. It was sad and
we all left kind of quiet and we had nothing really to say to each
other... It took us a bit to warm up to our happy selves again! ;)
Though it was sad it was trotz dem a good experience! :)

Then we went on tausch twice last week! One with the the sisters from
Bremen and one with the sisters from Bielefeld. It was really fun to
see all the sisters and work with them! Sister Sandstrom is in Bremen
so she got to come back and we got to work with each other! (Sister
Sandstrom was here with me my first two transfers!) it was really
awesome to be with her! :)

Sister Baird and I went to visit Schwester Wladzik last week. She's a
sweet Polish lady who is in our ward. But she's actually living in a
old folks home and not able to go anywhere. Which means she can't make
it to church. So we visit her every week and share a spiritual
thought. And then she likes to play a board game with us! Haha it is
so fun and she is such a sweet lady! It's always a highlight of our
week when we go to Schwester Wladziks! ;) And whenever we go there is
this group of little old ladies with no teeth sitting in the same
seats every time!! And one of the old ladies is very catholic
apparently and so she thinks we are nuns... Bahaha!! Every time we go
she gets so excited!! She says, "Danke Schwestern! Danke für alle Ihre
arbeit!" Over and over!! And she grabs my hands and it's so funny
haha!! It's like are little old lady fan club every time we walk into
the place!! These ladies are ancient... One time... They weren't
there... And you can bet what my first thought was... "Oh no!"

Sister Baird and I are trying to balance everything right now. It's
all kind of crazy now that we are in charge of the branch... ;) We are
working on it! Being Relief Society President is kind of cool! I
should be getting councilors soon! But things are kind of crazy in
Hannover at the moment... This transfer has been really weird because
she and I are just running around trying to meet all of the less
actives in our branch! (Which is basically the whole branch) and we
are trying to balance that with our German investigators! It's pretty
crazy! But it will smooth out soon! I think... ;)

Anyway, that's all for this week. God speed my friends! Remember who
you are and what you stand for! :)

Liebe Grüße,
Sister Darton

My wonderful district! (Elder Gibbs in the back... Priceless!)
Our district came up with a British band called "Doby and the Dogs" Elder Whitaker drew our cover album. Haha!
