Howdy! (February 27, 2017)

My sunglasses match the flag in the background haha!

Hallo!

This week was pretty exciting! We were very busy doing all sorts of things.

We had district Meeting in Dresden last Tuesday which was very exciting as always! ;)

Wednesday we got to go to the temple! Oh my golly gee it was wonderful! We had permission to go! And I was able to do confirmations, initiatories (not sure how that is spelled...), and a session! It was so great! So now I have done all but two of the Heilige Handlungens which we do in the Freiberg temple! So cool right? It was great. And also... since we are best friends with all of the temple missionaries... we knew every person working there! And they all came and gave us big hugs and they helped us in the sessions and in everything else... and they sat with us in the celestial room! It was so wonderful.

Afterwards, I went to spend the next 24 hours in Zwickau with Sister Shoaf! We had a great Tausch. And President Uchtdorf was baptized there which is something special and a fun fact about that city! But, we had a lot of success! That was our missions designated "Harvest Day" everyone in the mission fasted the day before and then designated Thursday as a day of finding in preparation for our Mission Tour this Thursday in Berlin with Elder Sabin! Sister Shoaf and I were able to find someone new for them to teach in the short time I was there that day. It was really fun! I love finding!

Something else I discovered during my time there... The Beach Boys are coming to Germany this June!! And they are performing in Zwickau on the ninth of June! Whaaaat!?! You better believe I took a picture with that poster! Haha! ;)

On the train ride home from Zwickau I happened to run into a dear old catholic friend of mine from Hohenstein and he was headed to Freiberg! In Hohenstein we would see him on the street practically every day around six o'clock and we always talk for about thirty minutes (he loves to talk!) and we would always invite him to pray with us on the street! So he would haha! And then he would ask us to each say a prayer as well haha! It was pretty funny! Well... before we left Hohenstein we were able to tell him goodbye and that we were going to Leipzig!  He informed us that the church he goes to is in Leipzig and that if it was Gods will we would meet again. We told him to pray that we would meet again! And we promised him if he did that it would really happen! And he promised he would pray... well two transfers in Leipzig went by... we would walk past that church often... but we never saw him. Yet, here he was! We had a wonderful reunion and he asked, "I thought we were supposed to meet again in Leipzig!?" I responded, "Did you pray for it?" And he said he didn't... so I responded, "Well there's the problem! It's exactly why it didn't happen!" Picture with this man is included haha! ;) It was cool to see him again!

The next day we had such a wonderful Tausch with the sisters from Gorlitz! (Sisters Wahl and Nitz!) they were so much fun! And Sister Jackson and Wahl were able to find three people to teach that day! So that was cool! Sister Nitz and I had a great day and we visited a few people from the ward! It was so much fun to get to know her!

Saturday we gave TWO temple tours! And they were our first ever! So that was exciting! A little difficult but we made it through haha! And we are giving two more next Saturday so we are excited about that!

The Fillmores (two of our Temple Missionaries!) invited us to their apartment to eat home made banana muffins which they had made that morning! You better believe we were there last night haha! We talked a lot about family history with them and they shared some really cool miracle stories about finding family names, etc. it was so much fun!

Well... that's about it for now. I hope you are all doing well. And I'm praying for you! Make good choices! Bis Später!

Liebe Grüße,

Sister Darton
