Hello World! (April 10, 2017)

This was a really cool national park! Everyone should go!

Dear family and friends!

This week was pretty good here in the city of Freiberg! It has been really cold again so that's unfortunate... but what can ya do? ;)

So... last Tuesday we had Zone conference! It is always exciting to get the zone back together. We had it in Freiberg and we all had the opportunity to go to the Temple! Präsident told us a while back that if every single person in a Zone could find a family name that Zone would be allowed to travel to the temple as part of their Zone conference. So our Zone and one other Zone had the opportunity to come to the temple. That poor other Zone though had to wake up really early and drive like five hours to the Temple! Talk about a road trip...

ZoKo was good! We were mainly spoken to about this new Facebook thing that is going on in our mission! So our mission is the only mission in Europe (other then London...) that has Facebook. We are the Guinea pigs of Europe... ;) Anyway, at first I was shocked and a little apprehensive about all of it... then i saw the things we could do using Facebook and my mind was changed. We had the opportunity of watching "The District 3" which takes place in the Tempe Arizona Mission. They took a group of missionaries and put them in a completely dead area and gave them Facebook. This area had nothing going for it... but by the end of three months and with the help of this new technology... they had baptized 13 people into the gospel.

We are able to teach now more frequently! If someone is not able to meet you in person we can still teach them a lesson through Facebook messenger... and studies show that People are much more Open through messenger then they are in person. It is also a hundred times easier for members to be joint teaches through Facebook messenger because they can do it from wherever they are! It is pretty cool. Of course lessons in person are always #1 priority... but we can always have a lesson on Facebook if a lesson falls out or if someone is not quite ready to meet us in person. Now... we will not be finding investigators through Facebook! We will continue to find people in the city by street contacting or door to door... but instead of asking for an appointment to meet with us right there, or a phone number, we can now ask for a Facebook contact. Incredible!

But I think my favorite part of all of this is that... when I go home... I can still be a joint teach on Facebook for old investigators of mine! How cool is that? To be able to go home and continue to teach these people I love! Wonderful! :)

Well dear friends! I hope all is well there! I see you have received some heavy snow... ;) Es tut mir leid... ;) today we are hiking the sächsischer Schweiz! Super stoked dafür! Keep safe and remember Heavenly Father loves you!

Liebe Grüße,

Sister Darton

Saying goodbye to Temple Missionaries is never easy.... the Hunsakers will be missed!

That moment when you are in desperate need to practice your german and you say, "I really wish I could practice with Carla!" And two seconds later you see her walking towards you on the street! #miracle
